About me and stuff

My name is Edgar Cantero (Barcelona, 1981). I am a writer and cartoonist.

Once a promising author in the local scene with my debut novel Dormir amb Winona Ryder (2007), winner of the prestigious Joan Crexells award, the highbrow Catalan literary world soon lost influence on me in favor of Hollywood blockbusters, videogames, and mass-market paperbacks. My next novel, the punk dystopian thriller Vallvi (2011), earned me sizably fewer honors and many confused stares. In Spanish, I'm a regular contributor to satirical magazine El Jueves since 2007. In English I wrote the paranormal epistolar The Supernatural Enhancements (2014), the horror/action/comedy Meddling Kids (2017, New York Times bestseller) and the noir romp This Body's Not Big Enough For Both of Us (2018).

Since 2019 I live in West Hollywood, CA. I continue to write anything from short stories to screenplays.  My goal is to make beautiful popcorn fiction.
